Scrap N' Art Open Design Team Call
Ends September 12th, 2008Scrap N' Art eZine is holding our very first open design team call, and we want to see what YOU can bring to our publication! Please note that this call is for paper designers, not digital designers (we will be holding a call for digital designers in early 2009.)

How about a full set of bright acrylic paints? Well, they could ALL be yours!!!We ended up with WAY too many freebies to give away this summer, so we've come up with yet another fun and easy contest! To be eligible for this prize pack, all you have to do is submit a page or project for any of our current calls! To view our current calls, visit our Submit area.
Each page or project you submit counts as an entry, and each EXCLUSIVE, never-before-seen page or project submitted counts as TWO entries (see important rules below*)! You have until September 15th, 2008 to submit your pages and projects. You can use our online submission tool, or email your submissions to our Submissions Coordinator at -email- and she will enter them for you. We will pick one name at random from all the submissions and announce the winner on September 16th, 2008.

We had over 160 entries for our summer CHA prize pack. Thanks so much to everyone who entered. We had a LOT of fun reading your comments and learning how to stay cool during these hot summer days!We picked a random comment (thanks to chrisg.com for the script, modified to fit e107!) and our winner is:

I am a single working (graveyard shift) grandmother raising 2 Granddaughters. I got the girls a small pool this year, but the dog (Boxer)wouldn't stay out of it. So we set up a gushing sprinkler under the swing set. The girls devour popsicles and slushies and swing through the sprinkler to stay cool. Once they have a mud puddle, they play in it along with the dog. What a mess, so they all get hosed down before coming inside. We make alot of homemade ice cream in the summer in a handcranked ice cream freezer and they eat ice while taking turns cranking and waiting for the ice cream to freeze.

Every couple of months, we hold a challenge for the Scrap N' Art design team members to inspire them and keep them thinking outside the box. July's challenge (thought up by our DT Coordinator, Amy Hadley) was to create a page layout using NO commercially made scrapbooking products. EVERYthing on the page had to be hand made (scrapbooking tools could be used, including distressers, label makes, die cut machines, etc.)We put the layouts up for a vote, and our winner is Jen Mattot, with her stunning layout "Calm".
"The background was created with Tattered Angels spray and their stencils. I made the paper on the left (it's from my recent workshop), I used texture paste through sequin waste , the title is made with stamps and paint and the journaling is woodgrain dymo labels." says Jen.
Jen wins a great prize pack donated by our wonderful friends at ScrappingGals.com, including a Making Memories 3-ring binder style scrapbook, Noteworthy paper pack, and embellishments! Rumor has it she's going to be using it to make a brand new baby book *wink wink*

Sorry this is late. Mother Nature decided to hit us with an electrical storm, and lightning blew out our TV, Cable box/DVR, AND our modem. So we're living a little on the Amish side of things this week. Had to wait until I got back to work to post this.
Thanks for caring! LOLWe selected our "Scrap N' Art BEST OF CHA" companies, and wanted to share them with you. Both of these companies will be featured very soon in the Scrap N' Art publication, so be sure to watch for them, along with AWESOME prize packs from both companies!
First, we have GCD Studios. Their line of double sided patterned cardstock and specialty papers are FABULOUS. Their variety and selection of styles is incredibly vast, and we were so impressed with their level of quality, as well as their customer service.
Next we have Dream Street Papers. This company has the most delightful group of designers producing unique and cheerfully fun paper designs. We cannot wait to bring you more from them, and discover the unlimited potentials of their products!

* Handmade wrapping paper or layouts using wrapping paper
* Scrap a page about your favorite ornament or decoration
* Non-traditional holiday layouts
* Holiday layouts with no photo
* Retro (70s & 80s) Holiday layouts
* Layouts using predominantly red, green, and gold
Other layouts & projects we're looking for:
