Easy Peasy Mini Album22 June 2013 | By Marilyn in Uncategorized
Good morning! Marilyn here to share a really easy mini album I just finished. Thanks to Basically Bare’s wonderful albums, it’s easy to create something that fits your mood and style.
I started with a Basically Bare Casually Covered Album. I covered the front and back using a architectural-style paper from the Tim Holtz Crowded Attic Paper Stash pad (I used this throughout the album). I then lightly inked it with Shabby Shutters Distress Ink and covered the spine with tissue tape.
I used a piece of Grunge Paper inked with Shabby Shutters Distress Ink and stamped with a Mixed Media stamp from Stampers Anonymous. I carefully glued this around the edges to create a pocket. This side of the acrylic page is colored with Alcohol Inks in Meadow, Latte, and Silver, applied with a blending tool.
For the other side of the acrylic page, I used Distress Inks in Oregano, Caramel, and Pearl, once again applying them with a blending tool. For the opposite page, I inked a Basically Bare Just Chippy Dress Form in Victorian Velvet Distress Ink then stamped over it with a Stampers Anonymous Seamless Experience stamp. I cut out a pair of wings from the Sizzix Layered Angel Wings Bigz Die, stamped them with another stamp from the Seamless Experience stamp set, and glued it behind the Just Chippy Dress form.
For page 5, I used Basically Bare’s Hats & Staches in black and added a pair of googly eyes to create a face. For the opposite page, I grabbed my TCW Mini Chicken Wire Stencil and my Liquitex Modeling Paste. After the modeling paste dried, I inked over it with Iced Spruce Distress Ink. The fence is cut from Sizzix’s On the Fence die. I trimmed the bottom off since the die does leave quite a large edge.
Here, I used Basically Bare’s Jailer Keys, misting them with Art Anthology Pesto, Watermelon, and Vineyard Colorations. I also used Sizzix’s On the Fence and Townscape dies to add additional interest. These were small pieces left over from the other pages and they worked perfectly here. For the canvas page, I misted on Art Anthology Timeless, Pesto, and Warm Colorations and let dry. I then pulled out my modeling paste again, this time tinting it with Ranger Rainbow Ink in Metallic Red. The white modeling paste combined with the red ink to give me the perfect shade of pink. Then using my TCW Mini Cherry Blossoms Stencil, I applied the modeling paste to only the blossoms.
For the back of the canvas, I misted on Art Anthology Pesto, Sangria, and Focus. For the opposite page, I used the Sizzix Townscape die once again to create a border for one of the small half pages.
I used more of the Crowded Attic paper on the backside of the small pages. For the inside back cover, I misted a Basically Bare Canvas Happy Little Tree with Art Anthology Pesto and Warm Colorations. The ink nibs are from the Stampers Anonymous Curious Possibilities stamp set.
This mini album was really fun to put together.
